Mardi Gras..what whaaa?

Hey all,
Happy Mardi Gras everyone! I am spending it in the Southern Bayou for the first time (not New Orleans though, I think I'm a little old for that tom foolery). We went to a parade in Alexandria this past Sunday, it was a blast. They had a section for military family's which was nice cause it wasn't very crowded. I did however throw out my back by wearing heels the entire day (again too old to do anything anymore!) I am now on muscle relaxers and pain pills. Not a fun experience and I have learned my lesson.
I applied at Gamestop a couple weeks ago and am REALLY hoping I get the job. They seemed interested and I would love LOVE to work there. It would be a dream job to work around video games and then come home and be able to play them for "research". Who knows maybe I could work my way up to manager and be able to go to E3 *nerdgasm* amazing.
On another video game note, my husband and I tried to back up our xbox hard drives. We tried mine first, which resulted in ALL my saved games to be deleted. It was extremely heartbreaking. All those hours I put into Fallout 3, Oblivion, Fable, etc just gone. It was a horrible feeling, the plus side is I can replay them now I spose. Still, it was probably the worst feeling ever...well maybe not, that's a bit dramatic.
I'm still trying to adjust to life down here in the South. It is significantly different to what I'm used to. Anyone with a thick southern accent needs to repeat themselves around me because I have NO idea what they are saying. Other then that it's not so bad really, being out in the boonies still gets to me every once and a while though.
I need to start adding more pictures to this blog. I really want to get a DSLR camera but it's a bit out of our price range so I think that will have to wait. Once I get a job this will hopefully be more interesting as well. I would love to have things to write about but when you are a homemaker there isn't much to say! Anyway, maybe I'll write more later...who knows! Take care all
On an end note...Kitty Coaster!!!
Much Love <3

I'm sorry for lying..please forgive me!

I like how I said I was going to write in this more cause of that app...and then I never did haha. We recently moved to Louisiana about a month and a half ago and I spose between moving, christmas, not getting our stuff for 3 weeks, a trip to Minne and just adjusting in general I haven't really had the time to write in my blog. I should try more often, I think it's good for the mind and spirit.
The weather here in Louisiana is more bipolar then in Minne. One day it's 30 degrees and the next its almost 70!! Crazy. I'm also adjusting better then I did in Washington. I don't know if it's because the scenery and climate can be similar to Minne or maybe I'm just more used to being away from where I grew up. Either way, it's kind of nice to not be so missing everything all the time.
Sunset on the day I got home to Lousiana from Minnesota
I visited family last week and it was definitely different. I felt like was visiting but also like I had never left, it was a very odd feeling. I got to spend time with my adorable niece however who is growing by the minute. It was nice to finally spend some time with her, even if she enjoys throwing her 2 year old fits! She makes up for it in cuteness ;)
My niece hamming it up to the camera while eating Spaghetti
I noticed being back in Minne how much I missed it but also how much it feels different. Living in the south I have come to realize that Minnesota nice is really just passive aggressive fake nice. Don't get me wrong there are very nice people there but compared to Southern hospitality it's pretty bad. Another thing  I have come to be annoyed with is how they react to weather. I post about chilly weather here in LA (cause lets face it, 20 degree weather is pretty damn cold for the south) and my status goes wild with Minnesotans and Wisconsinites alike saying "YOU THINK THAT'S BAD OMFG FDKLHAVKNKLA" (Sorry for the caps, it's for the effect :D) I find it annoying and rude. You people should be used to this by now, you live in the NORTH, I mean come on really? Is this a pissing contest? Oh Well, enough of my rant.
Lake Minnetonka over by my sisters house
That's about all that's going on recently. I'm going to be looking for a job now and getting some doctor appointments out of the way. Other then that David and I are going to try to make it to Lake Charles this weekend for Valentines day. Looks like a pretty area and like it would be fun. Hope to write again next week, I spose we shall see!! Take care all!

Hooray for iPhone Apps!

So I downloaded this application on my iPhone called epic win ( http://www.rexbox.co.uk/epicwin/ ). Basically it turns a normal to do list into a RPG where you get points for finishing things on your to do list, you get loot and stuff as well as leveling up. Needless to say I think it's pretty much amazing. So one of the things I put on my to do list was to update my blog every week, cause lets face it, it's good to get your thoughts down and out there for random strangers (or no one ;) ) to read.

So I will be moving to Louisiana in exactly 2 and a half weeks, ugh x2! I'm hoping we can make it fun but, that is never a state I really wanted to go to. Going to miss Washington a bit, was just starting to get used to it. The scenery is beautiful here, and Seattle is a wonderful city. Washington was kind enough to give me a lovely parting gift though...SNOW!! <3 I love snow, being a born and bred Minnesotan it made me oh so very happy to have it visit me in WA.
(Me enjoying the snow :D)

This past Friday my hubby and I went to the BJShea morning show anniversary party in Bellevue at the Parlor ( http://www.kisw.com/pages/5697512.php ). We had a BLAST, the crew was really down to earth and cool. It was all around a good time. We last minute decided neither of us wanted to sober cab and rented a hotel room. It was pretty fancy, I felt pretty grubby going there. It was all "pinky's up" and I'm not really that kind of girl. It was fun to kick it and chill with the hubby and have some fun. Since we don't have much time left here in WA it's good to get out and see some places we haven't been to.
(View from our hotel room)

On a TV show note...my current obsession is The Walking Dead (http://www.amctv.com/originals/The-Walking-Dead/ ). This show is simply...awesome. It's a zombie apocalypse show yes but...it's more character based. Great writing, great action, awesome characters. Such a great show.

So anyways, I will write more next week. Got Thanksgiving and getting ready to move this week so lots of cleaning and packing and not fun stuff! So stay classy all and be safe this holiday weekend.
(Just a small token to show you how much we love our cat scrubbers ;) poor guy haha)

3D, weddings, and jobless rants...yippe!

See I told you, I have THAT personality ha ha. It's been a month since I've updated this blog, I spose I could go the route of saying no job, no friends=no blog posts because of a BORING life! As much as those suck, it's amazing to be here with David and to see him (most) everyday, I wouldn't give it up for the world.

On a more random rant, is anyone else SICK of 3D. Now those of you who know me will probably *roll eyes* at this point BUT I am just done with this craze. Call me an old cranky woman but I just don't see the appeal. If I wanted things to fly up to me or walk up to me or what have you, I'd walk down the street in REAL LIFE. Movies are supposed to be an escape from reality, why would I want them IN my reality?
The fact that they are re-releasing movies (Star Wars all 6 of them in 2012) is just one reason I hate it. Great, lets re-release a movie we all have seen before just to cash in on the 3D craze when we could be attempting to make new and creative movie ideas. I spose that's Hollywood, they are all about the Benjamin's.
I just hope that most people will play the Christopher Nolan card (His 3rd Batman movie will most likely not be released in 3d thank jebus) and just not follow this trend. We have seen what it does to movies...just tons of crap movies are coming out now. I for one loved Inception and guess what, IT WASN'T IN 3D!!!

Sorry...I'm done on that rant. So I'm still looking for a job, I've applied at over 30 places and no one is hiring. You would think with the holiday season on it's way I would have more luck, but apparently not. It's too bad the Tacoma Mall is a good 30-40 minutes away otherwise I would apply away, I just see that as being a waste of gas however.

Also have been trying to help in the planning of my lovely sisters wedding. I'm happy to help, but sometimes I have horrible flashbacks to earlier this year and late last year *shudders*. Weddings are amazing and a I loved the way ours turned out. I have to say, the planning of a wedding however, my god...it's crazy. As a bride there is SO much involved, I didn't even realize what I was getting myself into. By the wedding day I was bundle of stressful nerves, I'm surprised I kept the friends and family I have!! I only hope for the best for my sister and hope to TRY to help from miles and miles away.

Anyway, I spose that's it for now, I don't think anyone reads this. If you do, kudos to you sir and or madam for enduring my ramblings. Hope to write again SOONER.

On an end note...this video is awesome Funny Weatherman Blooper

Stay Classy all,
Desirée

Well Hello...

I figured I would try my hand at this blogging tomfoolery. Chances are this will end up being the most pointless, boring, mundane and random blog you will read in your life. Consider yourself honored I spose.

A little about me (if you care...if not please hit the X button on your browser...or for mac users, apple Q!)
I am a (almost) 24 year old newly married woman. I have been happily married for a whopping 2 and a half months and am still waiting for the supposed crappiness of it. I live in Washington (State..not DC, and NO I do not live in Seattle...) where I reside as a currently unemployed army housewife.

I used to edit videos quite a bit but sort of fell out of the hobby after going to college for it. I'm hoping to pick it back up soon and will post on here if I do.

I am a hockey fan...more so an Minnesota Wild fan, I don't get to keep up with it as much as I used to but I will always bleed iron range red :)

I am what they call a "gamerchick", I don't pretend to be leet or pro. I am a gamer yes, but that doesn't mean I am good at it. I game because I enjoy it and am proud to advertise the fact that I play games on the very easy level (you should try it sometime, it will boost your self esteem I promise ;) ). My favorite series are Zelda and Mario. Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games of all time and I can NOT wait for New Vegas *nerdgasm*.

I am a self-proclaimed "geek", as my husband says not a nerd a geek because I am into computers and not all things nerdy...psh whatev. I enjoy dinking around on my Macbook Pro (apple fan for life...I am one of "those" people).

I am a proud aunt to one of the most amazing little girls in the world. I never figured I could love someone else's kid SO much but...it happened!

My family and friends mean the world to me, I am extremely family oriented and would do ANYTHING for them.

I spose this has turned into more of a bio...and I'm assuming there is a bio page, so sorry for that but I'm sure you will live :) I'm pretty sure this blog will turn into me rambling when I'm bored or needing to vent something. Either that or I will completely abandon it after...one post, yes, I have that personality type. But either way it is a way to keep up with the fam and to write I spose. I hope you all enjoy. Keep it classy
